A PROUD and emotional Carletta Yee will make her debut for the Vodafone Fijiana XV in today's Oceania Rugby Women's Championship final against Samoa at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

The 18-year-old rising talent could hardly contain her excitement after being named as one of the impact players for the all-important clash.

"I want to give the glory and honour to God and thank the coaches for trusting me and giving me this opportunity.

"Hopefully, we can defend our title," she said.

Yee says the team is focused on staying disciplined and sharp under pressure, especially in what could be wet and challenging conditions.

"We don't know what the weather will be like on Saturday, but the main message from the coaches is to slow the ball down and maintain line speed on defence."

The young debutant is also playing with her heart full, dedicating her first cap to her siblings overseas.

"I want to dedicate my game this Saturday to my two siblings in China, Talei and Junior who are sitting their exams soon. This one is for the two of you."
