Jennie Logan, from Bicester, died while tackling the blaze on Buckingham Road on May 15.

She was the second female firefighter to die on duty in peacetime, following Fleur Lombard, 21, who died in Bristol in 1996.

The 30-year-old was given a full ceremonial fire service funeral, with mourners paying tribute to her bravery, fearlessness and dedication to Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Hundreds of people gathered along the route in respectful silence while uniformed firefighters marched behind the coffin.

A minute's silence was held outside Bicester's fire station before the cortege proceeded along Kings End.

A private service followed at the request of Ms Logan's family.

Tributes for Ms Logan, Mr Sadler and Mr Chester poured in from across the nation following the tragedy.

In a statement, Paul Jaggers, chairman of Bicester Rugby Union Football Club (RUFC) praised Ms Logan and Mr Sadler's commitment and enthusiasm to the sport in a tribute on behalf of the club.

Ms Logan joined Bicester Vixens in November 2021, the chairman said, and her "determination to push herself shone" from her first session.

"She was a dedicated and driven number eight, committed to being the best player she could be for the team," Mr Jaggers added.

"Jennie was so much more than her performance.

"She was a kind, gentle and thoughtful force to be reckoned with, who knew what the women's game deserved.

"We will carry their memories in our hearts into every game, training, social and everyday."

Last month, Jennie's mum, dad and sister Emilie said in a tribute that Jennie was a "loving, caring, thoughtful person" and lived life at 100mph.

They said: "Her bravery and fearlessness shone through right until the end.

"Our lives will never be the same, we'll miss her beautiful smile and zest for life.

"She will always be our hero and we are so immensely proud of her."

Two other firefighters were seriously injured in the fire, which remains under investigation.

One has since been discharged while the other remains in hospital in a stable and improving condition.
