Police officer and former CEO of YMCA St Helens in King's Birthday Honours list

A POLICE officer and the former chief executive of YMCA St Helens are among those to have been recognised in the King's Birthday Honours list.

Mark Hobin, who has been with Merseyside Police for more than two decades, has ben recognised with an MBE for services to policing.

Police Constable Hobin joined the force 22 years ago and dedicated a huge portion of his life and service to supporting others through his charitable work.

Over the last 15 years he has raised more than £1m for charities and community organisations including Portico Vine ARLFC, where he is chairman, the Doyle Phillips Foundation, Great Britain Police Rugby League Association, the force's Baby Loss Peer Support Group, Miscarriage Association and Care of Police Survivors.

Meanwhile, Dr Justin Hill, former chief executive at YMCA St Helens has also been recognised.

He has been awarded an MBE for services to the community in Merseyside.

Also, Lisa Marie Vint, from Prescot, has been honoured with a British Empire Medal.

This is in recognition of her services to mental health awareness and suicide prevention in Merseyside.
