Communities in the Malvern Hills District will benefit from a nearly £2 million funding boost.
The Community Facility Legacy Grant Scheme, launched by Malvern Hills District Council, aims to enhance community wellbeing for future generations.
At a recent meeting, the executive committee allocated £1m to successful projects, with an additional £900,000 from other sources.
The scheme, which began in April, attracted 70 applications for projects like refurbishments, play areas, and a new village hall in Holt.
Of the total £1.9m investment, 69 per cent will go to rural community projects, while 31 per cent will be directed to facilities in Malvern Town.
Projects must match-fund the grant amount, contributing an extra £1.3m to communities.
Up to £3m will also be invested in council-owned facilities and public open spaces.
This includes Malvern Rugby Football Club, Sport Dyson Perrins, Malvern Town Football Club, Upton Hill Centre, Malvern Vale Community Centre, and a new community facility which will be built in Leigh Sinton.
The investment is part of the council's Community Infrastructure Investment Plan, prioritising accessibility and inclusivity.
Cllr Jennie Watkins said: "I am pleased to see the success of the grant scheme has led to more funding for our communities."
