Jennie Logan, 30, died in the fire at Bicester Motion on Buckingham Road on May 15.

She was the second female firefighter to die on duty in peacetime, following Fleur Lombard, 21, who died in Bristol in 1996.

Ms Logan, from Bicester, died alongside firefighter Martyn Sadler, 38, and 57-year-old father-of-two, Dave Chester.

Thousands gathered on Saturday morning as a procession passed through the town ahead of Ms Logan's funeral, which was a private service at the request of her family.

"Words cannot express how we are feeling right at the moment, but we are grateful that we have each other in this time of need; it has really proven that we are more than just friends, we are family.

"We will never forget or stop missing Jennie's grit and determination to always better herself (and, in turn, help us in bettering ourselves too), her sass and her amazing smile!

"We will continue to strive to be the best we can be, hope that we can honour one of the best people there ever was and do her proud going forwards, let's all try and 'be more Jen'."

"Jennie is remembered by her loved ones, colleagues and the community as she always will: as a hero. Our hearts are with her family this weekend, and always," he said on behalf of Bicester Motion.

"It was incredibly moving to witness the cortege pass through Bicester, a sight that none of the hundreds lining the streets will ever forget.

"It is another reminder of the sacrifices those on the frontline are willing to make to keep us safe, and we are in their debt."

Ms Logan joined Bicester Vixens in November 2021, the chairman said, and her "determination to push herself shone" from her first session.

"She was a dedicated and driven number eight, committed to being the best player she could be for the team," Mr Jaggers added.

"We will carry their memories in our hearts into every game, training, social and everyday."
