He is Renato Botteghi. Prompt intervention by medical personnel and attempts to resuscitate the 65-year-old man, who passed away from cardiac arrest after experiencing a sudden illness in the afternoon, were futile

World Superbike and the Misano circuit mourn the sad passing of Renato Botteghi, who died after serving as a marshal in the Emilia-Romagna Round. Prompt rescue efforts and transfer to the Medical Center, where he was taken after experiencing a sudden illness this afternoon, were not enough to save the life of the 65-year-old Santarcangelo resident, who died of cardiac arrest despite medical personnel doing everything possible to revive him.

The Misano World Circuit and Dorna, which broke the news of Botteghi's passing through a statement issued in the evening, wanted to express their deepest condolences to his family and colleagues.

"The role of marshals is essential to ensure the safe conduct of motorsport events. We are grateful for the work they do and deeply saddened by this loss, which comes at the end of a weekend that went off without a hitch, thanks in part to their valuable contribution," they stressed.

The President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Michele de Pascale, and the Regional Councillor for Tourism, Sport and Commerce, Roberta Frisoni, who were present in Misano today, also joined in the condolences: "We are close to the family of Renato Botteghi and offer our deepest condolences on behalf of the entire regional community for this serious loss."

The editorial staff of GPone.com also extends its deepest condolences to Botteghi's family and those who knew him.
