Mental health continues to rank as a top priority in Community Health Needs Assessments across the country, including here in the Quad-Cities -- affecting our loved ones, neighbors and our communities every day.
And the impact doesn't stop there. Poor mental health also contributes to worse outcomes for chronic disease and leads to higher rates of emergency visits, hospitalizations and overall healthcare costs.
Making it easier to get the help you need
At UnityPoint Health - Robert Young Center, we're stepping up to meet this challenge by expanding access to mental health services across Iowa and Illinois. We're partnering with community organizations, advancing prevention and early intervention and strengthening our crisis response efforts.
In June, we opened a new outpatient mental health clinic in Davenport, at 1704 East 54th Street. The clinic includes space for 15 clinicians and offers a broad range of services including therapy, psychiatry, evaluations, care coordination and intensive outpatient programs.

Over the past two years, demand for our services has grown. Today, Robert Young Center supports 22,000 individuals -- nearly half of whom live in Iowa -- underscoring the importance of providing care on both sides of the river.
Building our workforce
From June through August, Robert Young Center opened 21 new provider positions and filled 19 of them with passionate, dedicated mental health professionals.
Robert Young Center now provides nearly 70% of the safety-net behavioral health services in our region. That's a responsibility we take seriously. We're committed to expanding psychiatry and counseling options so that people don't just get seen -- they feel heard, supported and empowered.
Care closer to home
Our expanded access doesn't stop there. We've also expanded services in Moline and Rock Island and are preparing to open a new office in Clinton because we know getting help when and where you need it matters. Where you live shouldn't determine whether you can get the care you need.
Mental health and substance use recovery are healthcare. It's that simple. And everyone who comes through our doors deserves compassion, healing and hope.
A national standard of excellence
We're proud to share that Robert Young Center has earned the prestigious designation of a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. This is no small feat. The application process is rigorous and highly competitive and we're now one of only ten CCBHCs in Iowa and one of 15 in Illinois. Both states were selected for a federal demonstration program.
We're here for you
For nearly 60 years, people in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas have trusted us during some of their toughest times -- and that's why we're committed to offering care that's compassionate, evidence-based, and truly meets the needs of our community.
