Sam Fender merchandise pop up store to open outside St James' Park for Newcastle gigs | Chronicle Live

There is now less than a week to go until Sam Fender hits the stage at St James' Park for three packed out gigs in Newcastle, two years on from his epic run at United's famous stadium. And the man himself has now added to the excited by breaking news to fans of a limited edition merchandise pop-up outside the ground.

Ever since he won the Critics Choice accolade at the Brits at the start of 2019, North Shields musician Sam has taken the world by storm, thanks to songs like Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under becoming anthems for the new generation and the albums of the same name giving fans the soundtrack to many a house party or night out. While of course, Sam's songs work in any venue, it's in front of a sold out stadium that they really come to life and this next weeks is shaping up to be a pretty epic one for him and his band.

On Friday night there is the small matter of playing their biggest gig to date, in front of an 80,.000 strong audience at the London Stadium, before the moments tens of thousands of Geordies have been waiting for - Sam's big return to St James' Park. It was back in June 2023 that the lads had Tyneside eating out of the palms of their hands with two amazing gigs at SJP, as Newcastle city centre became a sea of black and white.

There's sure to be more of the same next week, as over 50,000 fans flock to SJP on each night, for Sam's concerts on June 12, 14 and 15. And to help them all look the part, there will be a special merch pop-up right outside the ground, which will have an early opening to allow people to get their goods long before doors open.

Sam took to Instagram earlier this week to reveal that a merchandise store will be open for business in Strawberry Place, from 12-7pm next Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, right before a line of products were made available online, including a limited edition People Watching football shirt, costing £90 and t-shirts for £30+.
