Georgia defensive back commit Chace Calicut may have just ended his college career before it even begins.
Calicut has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, following an incident that occurred on July 6.
FOX 26 Houston obtained the records regarding the July 6 incident that involved Calicut and Isaiah Brice Phillip.
The 17-year-old boy was driving with a 17-year-old girl in his passenger seat when he saw the commit pull up behind him.
The teen alleged that Calicut drove around in front of him and hit his brakes, forcing him to also brake to avoid crashing into Calicut's car.
FOX 26 Houston stated the teenager drove around Chace Calicut's car to escape, but then the Georgia commit pulled up to him again.
He was allegedly driving erratically before he allegedly saw a handgun pointed at him by Phillip. The teenager was able to turn and drive away from Calicut, but that is when he heard several gunshots.
A friend driving behind the teen reported that he saw Phillip shooting out of the window as they drove away, according to court documents.
Calicut committed to Georgia late last month, picking Georgia over Texas and Michigan.
Georgia four-star safety commit Chace Calicut has been arrested.
Calicut plays high school football at Galena Park, Texas. According to the Rivals Industry Ranking, he was the No. 152 overall recruit in the 2026 cycle.
The Michigan Wolverines and Texas Longhorns were considered finalists for Calicut. Ultimately, Georgia emerged as a winner and Texas finished as the runner-up.
Now, it appears as if he will not be playing for anybody.
