The newly promoted League Two club have announced changes behind the scenes

East Kilbride FC have announced a restructure to the club board following their promotion to the SPFL.

And the reshuffle has seen Celtic hero John Hartson replaced in the honorary chairman role, with the ex-striker now taking on the role of club ambassador. Former chairman Mark Horner is now honorary chairman.

Hartson helped launch the club in 2010 and had been honorary chairman since. Last month he told of his joy for the club's owners as the team was promoted from the Lowland League after 11 years of trying.

He told Lanarkshire Live Sport : "It means a lot to everyone in the town and I know how much it means to the owners.

"I have an affiliation with the club as honorary chairman and [owners] Paul and James [Kean] are my best friends.

"Paul puts his life and soul into this club. He is down at the training ground all the time, he is football daft and he takes a big interest in it. They are not just people who build property and houses, this is big for Paul and I know how much this football club means to him and everybody in East Kilbride.

"I'm delighted and feel extremely proud to see them finally get promoted into Scottish League 2. Well done all for a fantastic achievement."

Elsewhere, there have been key appointments with David Clayton appointed chairman and former Lowland League chief George Fraser coming on board as the club's general manager.

Former director of football Jim Mullen is now a football ambassador for the club, while the board of directors comprise owner Paul Kean, club doctor Sam Miller, match secretary Peter Hickey and club treasurer Iain Gilchrist.

Long-serving club secretary Dave McKenna, who has been in post since the club's formation in 2010, remains in his post.

Club Committee Members: Alexander Semple, Ewen Stevenson, Alan McKenna, Steven Sullivan, Gordon Baillie and Gary Simpson
