The 2025 GAA/GPA PwC football All-Star nominations were announced on Thursday morning. - with beaten All-Ireland finalists Donegal receiving nominations, one more than All-Ireland champions Kerry.

St Naul's duo Brendan McCole and Peadar Mogan, along with Kilcar's Ryan McHugh, Naomh Conaill's Finnbarr Roarty, and St Eunan's Ciarán Moore are all nominated in the backs.

St Michael's Michael Lanagan is nominated at midfield with fowards Michael Murphy, Conor O'Donnell, Shane O'Donnell and Ciarán Thompson also in the mix.

In all, 12 counties are represented across the 45 football nominees.

Kingdom forward David Clifford could win a remarkable third Footballer of the Year Award, he's been shortlisted alongside Joe O'Connor and Donegal's Michael Murphy.

Clifford was the top scorer in the Championship this year, with 8 goals and 48 points from play.Armagh's Oisin Conaty, Matthew Thompson of Galway, and Donegal's Finnbarr Roarty are in the running to be named Young Footballer of the Year.

The All-Star nominations were chosen by a group of Gaelic Games Correspondents from across print, radio, tv and digital media and was chaired by Uachtarán CLG, Jarlath Burns.

This will be the 54th year of the awards stretching back to 1971.

The PwC All-Stars will be presented at a gala black-tie event at Dublin's RDS on Friday November 7th, which will be shown live on RTÉ.

The football team will be announced live on the night as well as the player of the year awards in hurling and football.
