The Club World Cup quarter finals get underway on Friday night with Brazilian side Fluminense taking on Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in Orlando in the opening last eight clash.

Both sides finished second in their group after picking up five points from their three group games, and both upset the odds to progress through their Round of 16 clashes to make the quarter finals.

Fluminense won 2-0 against an Inter Milan side who only five weeks ago were playing in the final of the European Champions League, while Al Hilal pulled off perhaps the shock of the tournament so far, beating defending Club World Cup champions Manchester City 4-3 in extra time.

The other quarter final in that half of the draw sees Chelsea take on Palmeiras.

Enzo Maresca's side also needed extra time to get past Benfica following Angel di Maria's equaliser in the fifth minute of stoppage time at the end of the 90 after a near-two hour weather delay, but the Blues managed three unanswered goals in the extra period to seal their quarter final spot.

Meanwhile, their opponents Palmeiras defeated the defending Brazilian and South American champions Botafogo 1-0, with the help of extra time, to book their spot in Friday's match, and will fancy their chances against a Chelsea side at booking their place in the semi finals.

The other side of the draw sees four European teams battle it out for a place in the final, with two blockbuster matches seeing French champions PSG come up against German champions Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid meet Borussia Dortmund in a rematch of last year's Champions League final.

PSG and Bayern Munich both scored four in their Round of 16 clashes to book their place in the quarter finals, the former defeat Inter Miami 4-0, in a match which saw Lionel Messi come up against his old club, while Bayern defeated Group D winners Flamengo 4-2.

The final two Round of 16 matches saw Real Madrid defeat Juventus 1-0 in a battle between two European giants, before Borussia Dortmund knocked out the final North American side in the competition, beating Mexican side Monterrey 2-1.

The match up between the two in New York could have seen the Bellingham brothers play against each other for the first time on the professional stage, where in not for Jobe's suspension after picking up his second booking of the tournament in Dortmund's second round clash.
