The Ryder Cup is just two days away, and Team Europe have been unwinding by trying their hand at another sport.

Darts appears to be the relaxation method of choice for Luke Donald's squad, with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry stepping up to the oche to show their teammates how it's done.

While Lowry and McIlroy are two of the best golfers in the world, judging by videos of their match, their talent doesn't necessarily transition to the darts arena.

In a video posted on Twitter, McIlroy and Lowry can be seen facing off with arrows in their hands, and in what is perhaps an indicator of the quality of the match, both Rory and Shane were languishing near the foot of the board, trying their best to hit double 2.

McIlroy can be seen going close, hitting the fat part of the two section, and follows up by narrowly missing double 1.

Lowry can be heard saying "for the match," before finally checking out on double 2, consigning McIlroy to defeat.

A voice in the background can then be heard singing the famous PDC darts theme song, drawing a laugh from McIlroy.

Fans of Europe will be delighted to see the team in such high spirits, and fans of McIlroy will be relieved to see him relaxing before the event by playing darts rather than football after his infamous 5-a-side injury that ruled him out of The Open in 2015.
