Students attending face-to-face distance learning at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Genç KOMEK Summer School are having a full summer holiday by attending camps in the City Forest and Meram Dutlukır.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay met with students at the play camps held in the City Forest and shared in the children's summer holiday enthusiasm.

President Altay, who toured the game stations and chatted with students, said in his post-visit evaluation that they had implemented an important program to ensure that the summer months in Konya were exciting.

"THE PURPOSE IS TO LEAVE A BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES IN THE MINDS OF CHILDREN"

Mayor Altay noted that the programs they organized in Dutlukır and the City Forest made the day enjoyable for nearly 12 students enrolled in Genç KOMEKs in the city center and the surrounding provinces, as well as the children who filled the mosques in Karatay, Meram, and Selçuklu to receive Quran courses. He continued:

Our children's days are filled with fun with various competitions here, they make new friends, and they get a breath of fresh air in the forest air in this heat. In addition to our students attending the Young KOMEK Summer School, students attending Quran courses during their summer break also benefit from these camps. We especially thank our religious officials for collaborating with us on this project. The children's transfers, meals, and all the organization are handled by our Metropolitan Municipality. The goal is to leave a beautiful memory in the children's minds and to increase the number of students attending the Quran Course. We are also working diligently with the Directorate of Religious Affairs in this regard. This is a very enjoyable environment. At the stations, children play, have fun, and make new friends. The joy of our visitors is evident in their eyes. God willing, we will provide this opportunity to 55 children during the summer. I thank all my colleagues who contributed.

AWARENESS IS BEING RAISED ABOUT WASTE OF "WATER" AND "BREAD" IN THE CAMPS

Mayor Altay emphasized that they have strived to impact the lives of children since their inception, saying, "This project has allowed us to share a lively day with 55 children in Konya. We're bringing children from districts outside the city center who attend KOMEK training to both Dutlukır and the City Forest, ensuring they get to know these places and experience a wonderful program. Furthermore, we're not just providing entertainment; we're also providing training in the City Forest on how to conserve water. We're also holding an event in Dutlukır about not wasting bread. I believe this type of training will be a memorable event, especially during this peak drought. I hope all children enjoy their time here."

2 GAME CAMPS, 2 IN CITY FOREST AND 4 IN DUTLUKIR

The Young KOMEK Summer School ensures that children aged 7-14 have a fun and productive summer while also contributing to the development of self-confidence, teamwork, discipline, and a sense of responsibility.

Within the scope of the Young KOMEK Summer School, where entertaining and educational content is prepared for children and young people this year, 2 play camps are being organized: 2 in the City Forest and 4 in Meram Dutlukır Park.

FUNNY GAME STATIONS

The camps consist of 12 different stations, including Aim-and-Go, Limbo, Floppy Disk, Survivor, See-and-Find, Darts, Cricket, Bowling, Balance, Duck Race, Stick Catch, and Mushroom. Theatrical activities are also held to raise children's awareness and knowledge about water and bread waste.

Over 55 students will attend camps throughout the summer.

In these camps, a total of 12 students, including 43 Young KOMEK students, 524 students from the Directorate of Religious Affairs, and 55 Special Young KOMEK students, will participate in activities and have a full summer holiday.
