A huge new family entertainment centre is set to open a short drive from Birmingham within weeks, bringing 22 bowling lanes, karaoke, a 4D laser tag arena, interactive darts, three immersive escape rooms, pool tables and a cocktail bar under one roof.

Tenpin, one of the largest bowling companies in the UK, has announced plans to open a new entertainment hub at Redditch's Kingfisher Shopping Centre, around a 35-minute drive from the centre of Brum.

Families will have access to 22 bowling lanes, two private karaoke rooms with thousands of songs to choose from, an exhilarating 4D laser tag arena and an immersive interactive darts experience

Three escape rooms by award-winning company Houdini's will be themed around the Egyptians, space and pirates and have all been designed to challenge visitors' wits, collaboration and courage.

A 140-seat bar will serve up an extensive range of beers, spirits, cocktails and food and guests will also be able to watch the biggest games on Sky Sports and TNT in the bar.

The new facility is scheduled to open on Friday, July 11 and booking will open on June 18.

The complex will take the place of the former B&M and Wilko stores on the lower floor of the Worcestershire town's mall and is expected to create 30 jobs.

Entry prices have yet to be confirmed, but bosses say it will be 'perfect for ... budget-friendly family experiences'.

General manager Elliott Marchant said: "We're delighted to bring a brand-new entertainment hub to Redditch with the opening of Tenpin.

"We've invested in creating a range of activities to suit all ages, including karaoke, escape rooms, laser tag, interactive darts, and a cocktail bar, ensuring an unforgettable visit for all. We just can't wait to welcome visitors in!"

And Fiona Faizey, Kingfisher's general manager, said: "Tenpin will further enhance our leisure offer at Kingfisher Shopping Centre, boosting the town's appeal and providing exciting new opportunities for both residents and visitors."

The Redditch site is one of three new Tenpin sites opening, alongside venues in Harpurhey, Manchester and Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland.

The Tenpin brand was formerly owned by Essenden Ltd and later taken over by Ten Entertainment Group plc.

Several of its existing sites were formally known as Megabowl before they were refurbished and rebranded. The company now operates more than 1,300 lanes at 55 venues across the country.
