There's a town said to be worth a visit 'just for the window shopping' - and it's an easy train journey from Birmingham.

The small, market town of Llandeilo is in the beautiful county of Carmarthenshire in West Wales and draws visitors from all over due to its 'great selection' of independent shops, quirky antiques and cool cafes.

It has its own railway station and is on the picturesque Heart of Wales railway line, which runs between Shrewsbury and Swansea, making it ideal for a fun day out.

A spokesman for the area said: "Llandeilo is a popular shopping destination with visitors and locals alike and situated at the crossing of the River Towy on a handsome 19th-century stone bridge.

"Shopkeepers take the business of window-dressing very seriously here and there's often competition for the most elaborate and unique seasonal displays."

Whilst in the area, you could also visit nearby Dinefwr Castle, a 800-acre National Trust estate and medieval deer park and the picturesque town of Llandovery.
