We all love doing our best Britney impersonation in the shower, but sometimes hollering into a hairbrush just doesn't quite scratch the itch.

Whether it's a hen do, birthday party or just a night out on the town with your mates, why not book a karaoke booth and sing your heart out in the privacy of your very own room? If you fancy it, here's five places in Kent where you can do just that...

BOOM BATTLE BAR, Canterbury

The pub chain, known for activities like axe-throwing and VR darts, has added another string to its bow with its private karaoke booths. The Canterbury location has more than 100,000 songs in its catalogue, can seat up to 10 people in the booth, and you can even pre-order some prosecco or cocktails to enjoy on arrival.

Details: Units 6 and 7 at Riverside in Canterbury. Minimum spend is £90 Thursday to Saturday, can seat a maximum of 10 people. Book online here.

GINGER'S, Westgate-on-Sea

This stylish 1920s lounge bar has given its karaoke booth a makeover, with repurposed theatre seats from the London Palladium to give it a cool, old-timey feel. However, it's still got all the mod cons, including a touch-screen system, and there's even a prop box if you fancy dressing up like your favourite divas. And the best part is, it's only a fiver per person.

Details: 38 Station Road in Westgate-on-Sea, near Margate. £5 per person, or £40 for a group of seven or more, with a maximum of eight people. Book online here.

PANIC ROOM, Gravesend

Whether you're looking for an intimate night out with your besties or pulling out all the stops for a big celebration, this venue offers two different rooms to suit your needs. The Lounge can hold up to 10 guests and has a warm, cosy vibe, while the Disco has four microphones, a dancefloor and colourful lights to help get the party started.

Details: St George's Shopping Centre in Gravesend. From £7 per person for the Lounge (minimum of two, maximum of 10 people), or £50 per group for the Disco (up to 14 people). Book online here.

PARTY POP STAR, Sittingbourne

Parents might be familiar with this place as a hotspot for kids' parties, but why should they have all the fun? The private karaoke booth is perfect for all ages, with two-hour slots and almost 100,000 songs available. If you want to really feel like a popstar, you and your mates can pose for a VIP photoshoot and record your own song to take home as a CD souvenir - but perhaps it's best if what happens in the karaoke room, stays in the karaoke room.

Details: Smeed Dean Centre on Castle Road in Sittingbourne. £225 per group, with a maximum of 15 people. Book online here.

THE POUND, Canterbury

If you're looking for a splash of luxury, the private karaoke room at One Pound Lane has its very own roof terrace, so you can take in views of the city or cool down with some fresh air in between songs. There's also a push-button cocktail service, so the drinks are literally at your fingertips, and 60,000 songs to choose from.

Details: 1 Pound Lane in Canterbury. £15 per person, with a minimum of six and a maximum of 12 people. Party room with karaoke also available for larger groups of up to 30. Book online here.
