Two years after the network renewed the popular superhero series, Prime Video's Gen V has finally secured a release date and schedule for Season 2. As the third entry in The Boys franchise, Gen V focuses on the rise of formidable young superheroes (Supes) who hone their skills and perfect their craft at The Godolkin University of Crimefighting.
Plot-wise, Gen V Season 2 follows Marie (Jaz Sinclair) and her fellow Supes as they return to Godolkin University under Homelander's national rule. Along with Dean Cipher (Hamish Linklater), who turns the Supes into intrepid warriors, Marie and her friends prepare for an all-out war to settle the differences between humans and heroes. Like Season 1, Season 2 will feature eight episodes of satirical superhero storytelling and follow the same release schedule.
Gen V Season 2 Will Drop The First Three Episodes at Once
Gen V Season 2 will follow a similar release path as Season 1. Namely, the first three episodes will air at once, with weekly episodes following suit. The first three episodes of Gen V Season 2 will debut on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. While the full directorial slate is unknown, Episodes 1, 2, and 8 are directed by Steve Boyum, who helmed Gen V Season 1, Episode 4, "The Whole Truth."
After the first three episodes, which will be released on September 17th, one new episode will air on Prime Video every Wednesday. Gen V Season 2 will run for eight weeks, concluding on October 22nd. The release schedule is as follows:

What To Expect From 'Gen V' Season 2
Gen V Season 1 ended with Marie and her fellow Supes trapped in an all-white room following an intense campus melee. In the Season 2 trailer, the supes wake up in Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center, the same dangerous place Marie tried to evade by attending Godolkin. The team is brought back to the university, which resembles a much different place than before. Hamish Linklater appears as Dean Cipher, an administrator who believes Supes are superior to humans and escalates the war between the two sides.
The trailer also emphasizes Andre's absence in the wake of Chance Perdomo's tragic death in 2024. Rather than recast the role with another actor, the producers vowed to honor the character and memorialize Perdomo's legacy. In the trailer, Andre's father, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas), somberly looks at old photos of his son and asks what happened, vowing to burn Godolkin to the ground. As the Supes and humans wage a war for ultimate supremacy, Andre will not be forgotten in Gen V Season 2.
New Cast Members Added to 'Gen V' Season 2
As a spinoff of The Boys, fans can expect crossover characters to appear in Gen V Season 2. For instance, after appearing as The Deep in Season 1, Episode 3, "#ThinkBrink," Chace Crawford is slated to expand his arc and star in all eight episodes of Season 2. Meanwhile, Nathan Mitchell, who portrayed Black Noir in The Boys, is set to join Gen V's heroes in Season 2.
Additional characters from The Boys who are slated to appear in Gen V Season 2 include Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Dogknott (Zach McGowan), and Firecracker (Valorie Curry).
Entirely new characters in Gen V Season 2 that did not appear in The Boys include Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher; God U's owner, Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater); a media member (Scott Ian MacDougall), and various teenage students played by Stephen Kalyn, Tait Fletcher, Keeya King, Georgie Murphy, Julia Knope, Wyatt Dorian, Stacey McGunnigle, Scott Blachar, Kayla Mirage, Dante Jemmott, and Joshua Teixeira.
