DORCHESTER CC have a busy weekend ahead with fixtures in Premier One and the T20 Trophy.
Gautham Rajendar's side begin with the visit of third place Poole Town to the Rec today (12.30pm) as their Premier One season continues.
So far, Dorchester have won their opening game with Wimborne by three wickets and a winning draw against Bere Regis, picking up 13 points to Bere's seven.
Last weekend the club's game with Sherborne fell foul of the weather, with Dorchester just short of 20 overs into their innings as both teams were awarded zero points.
Poole on the other hand have picked up 14 points against Broadstone and Wimborne after two winning draws - amassing more than 600 runs in the process - and look in good form.
Rajendar is expecting a good game of cricket at the Rec, and ahead of the game, he told the Echo: "It should be a cracking game. They're coming off a very strong few games and we're expecting a tough game against Poole.
"We've got the one change with Jim coming in for Charlie."
Their is also chance for some silverware this weekend as the T20 Trophy comes to its conclusion on Sunday at the Hamworthy Club.
Dorchester are up second as they take on Chalke Valley (1.30pm) in their semi final encounter after Poole Town face Wimborne (10.30pm). The winners of each tie will then get the chance to play for the trophy.
However, despite the chance to get some early silverware in the trophy cabinet, Rajendar's focus has remained on the longer format of the game.
He added: "We're not giving it too much thought until after Poole, if we're being completely honest. But regardless, it should be a good day of cricket at Hamworthy."
There will be one change to the lineup though as Seconds skipper Billy Baker comes into the side for Jim Ryall.
Elsewhere at the club, the Seconds travel to Symene Sports in County Division Two, the Thirds are at home to Bournemouth Sixths in County Division Seven East at St Osmunds Sports Centre and the Fourths travel to Marnhull Thirds in Division Seven West.
On Sunday the ladies side will look to continue their fine form after beating Bere Regis in the Hundred Cup to reach the quarter finals and host Poole Town in Division One.
