South Africa bowled out Australia for 207 runs in the second innings of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final currently underway at Lord's in London. Australia, which managed to secure a 74-run lead in the first innings after restricting the Proteas to 138 in reply to their total of 212, has set a target of 282 runs for the Temba Bavuma-led side to chase down in the fourth innings and win the historic Test match at the Home of Cricket.

Kagiso Rabada picked up four wickets for South Africa in the 2nd innings after taking five for 51 in the first, and three Aussie batters were sent back to the pavilion by Lungi Ngidi, who remained wicketless in the first.

For Australia, Mitchell Starc top-scored (58*) in the second innings and added 59 runs for the last wicket with Josh Hazlewood (17).

344/1 by West Indies vs England in 1984

West Indies beat England by 9 wickets in the 1984 Test played at Lord's by successfully chasing down the target of 342 runs in 66.1 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Nasser Hussain remained unbeaten on 103, and Andrew Strauss (83) and Graham Thorpe (51*) scored half-centuries in the fourth innings to help England chase down the target of 282 runs for the loss of three wickets and win the 2004 Test match played against New Zealand at Lord's by 7 wickets.

Legendary batter Joe Root scored an unbeaten century (115), and captain Ben Stokes made 54 from 110 balls to help the Poms successfully chase down the target of 277 runs against New Zealand and win the Lord's Test played from June 2 to 5 in 2022 by 5 wickets.

In the June 1965 Test played between England and New Zealand at the Home of Cricket, England was asked to chase down 216 runs in the fourth innings by the John Reid-led New Zealand team, and thanks to Geoff Boycott's 76 and Ted Dexter's 80 not out, England achieved the objective in 60.5 overs for the loss of three wickets and won the fixture by 7 wickets.

Alastair Cook's 79 and Ian Bell's unbeaten 63 helped the Andrew Strauss-led English team chase down the target of 191 runs in 46.1 overs and win the Lord's Test against the West Indies by 5 wickets.
