As the 2025 season unfolded, the Colts have shown encouraging progress on and off the field. On Wednesday, Carlie Irsay-Gordon was at the team's practice, helping out players and coaches and taking detailed notes by a hands-on presence that has become a hallmark of her ownership.
Irsay-Gordon serves as Colts owner and CEO and has long taken an active role in football operations. She has been on the sideline on game days for more than a decade, using an earpiece to follow coaches' communications and taking notes. "That sort of accelerated my, 'I need to learn more about this. I need to be able to say, 'Is this person full of BS? Do they know what they're talking about?'" she said, describing why she began tracking coach communications in 2012. New safety Cam Bynum noted she also sits in on player meetings.
During her June 2025 introduction as a principal owner, Irsay-Gordon reflected on what she's learned from listening in on headsets. "One of the things that being on the headset has really helped me learn is... it's such a complex organism, a football team, and how it operates on game day. I think that's been very valuable, because it also helps us be able to know: Where do we need to make tweaks? What resources do we need? What do we need to fix?"
Carlie is part of a three-way ownership with sisters Kalen Jackson chief brand officer and philanthropic lead and Casey Foyt executive vice president focusing on marketing and community relations. That collective, visible leadership, combined with Carlie's sideline involvement and regular practice presence, has helped create a clearer operational focus for the Colts this season.
