This Wednesday the Evolution League, organized by Conmebol itself, began and the VinotintoIn the U15 category, they took their first victory against their counterparts from Peru by 2-0, with goals from José López and José Gamboa.

New coach Jhonny Ferreira, who took over the reins of the youth team less than ten days ago, selected 20 players for the first match of the tournament taking place in Luque, Paraguay, home of the South American Football Confederation.

The goals came in the 44th minute, well into the second half, with a goal from José López, and the victory was sealed in the 68th minute, practically at the final whistle, with a goal from Gamboa, to earn the first three points in the Northern Zone.

With the victory, the Vinotinto The U15 team currently leads their group after a goalless draw between Colombia and Ecuador. They will now look to maintain their lead in their group next Friday, September 26, when they face Colombia.

Venezuela will rest after facing its neighboring country and will return to action for Matchday 4, against Ecuador on October 2, and for Matchday 5, against Brazil on October 4.

Meanwhile, the women's national team is also in the Northern Zone with the same teams, but it doesn't have the same schedule. It kicks off this Thursday, September 25th against Ecuador, then faces Brazil and Colombia in consecutive rounds on the 27th and 29th of the same month, respectively, before closing out the fifth round against Peru on October 3rd.
