Scotland star Tom Jordan has revealed that teammate Louis Rees-Zammit has become good friends with Wales under-20s prop Louie Trevett. Rees-Zammit has signed with Bristol Bears for the 2025/2026 season after making a sensational return to rugby in August.
The Wales winger had spells with Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL as he tried to crack American football. However, things didn't quite work out, and he has now returned. Previously a Gloucester player, the Welshman penned a deal with PREM Rugby rivals Bears, with Rees-Zammit receiving a hostile welcome when he returned to play there last weekend.
Jordan, who recently joined the West Country outfit from Glasgow Warriors, is considered one of the hottest prospects in European rugby, like Rees-Zammit.
Speaking with former England international Ugo Monye ahead of the new season, Jordan was asked about his relationship with his Welsh teammate.
"Tell me, have you developed a bit of a bromance with Louis Rees-Zammit?," asked Monye. "I think that's false information!," laughed Jordan.
"Okay, you don't like each other?," asked Monye. "He's actually got a bromance with my boy (Louie) Trevett - a young academy prop from Wales," answered Jordan.
"But we actually did share a room together, so we are a lot closer now." Then Monye asked: "What was it like rooming with him?"
"He was really good, we had some good laughs," said Jordan. "He'd come alive at around 11pm, he just got really chatty. He's quite quiet before then.
"11pm, lights go off, he just... some crazy stories, good fun." Then Monye queried: "Any you'd like to share?"
"None!," exclaimed Jordan as the pair laughed. Check out the clip below.
Trevett is a 20-year-old prop who has also represented England at under-18 level. He was loaned to Scarlets earlier this year and made his debut for them against Leinster. He has since switched allegiances to Wales.
New Zealand-born Jordan, who can operate at full-back, centre or fly-half, has won nine caps for Scotland and brings serious firepower to Bears' backline, along with Rees-Zammit. With the likes of Steve Luatua and Ellis Genge, Bears have won of the best squads in the league this season.
Despite the fact Bears have experienced fly-half AJ MacGinty on the books, Jordan recently revealed that he favours playing at 10, although he would be happy to be played anywhere. So there could be some healthy competition between the 27-year-old and his American teammate.
"I'm happy to slot in anywhere and where best suits the team," Jordan told the BBC Rugby Union Weekly podcast. "When I look at my career, I played probably 90% of it at 10. I played those other positions as well here and there but I played a lot at 10 and I enjoy 10. It's probably good to pick one, then you can enjoy others as well. I feel like 10's quite good for me."
