Jameson Irish Whiskey Tackles Collectibles With 'One-Of-A-Kind' Keepsake

Jameson is looking to win big with football fans.

Ahead of the first NFL game in Dublin, the beloved brand of Irish whiskey is gearing up-literally-with the launch of a limited-edition keepsake inspired by the universal symbol of the sport: the football.

Declaring itself the "unofficial whiskey for football fans," Jameson is putting its money where its mouth is and releasing a "one-of-a-kind" flask.

Jameson's Collectible Football Flask Arrives Today

Jameson previously teased the regulation-sized football flask with the capacity to hold every last drop of a standard (750mL) bottle of whiskey a few weeks ago, but it didn't officially release the collectible until this Thursday, just three days before the big game.

"Jameson has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the fans, and that's why we are excited to declare ourselves the 'Unofficial Whiskey for Football Fans' this season and to finally celebrate American football in Dublin," Valeria Catterini, senior brand director, Jameson at Pernod Ricard USA, shared in a Sept. 18 press release. "After two years, we can't wait for fans to experience Irish hospitality firsthand as we toast to the game that the fans helped make happen."

What the company didn't explain at the time was that the flask is made from custom-crafted leather and includes a solid walnut display stand as well as a fifth of Jameson Irish Whiskey. Its collectible keepsake is durable enough to be used as a beverage display and dispenser (once thoroughly washed by hand), but fans are not advised to play with it as if it were an actual football. The company notes that once it's filled with the spirit, it's "significantly heavier than a regulation football and is not safe for throwing or playing." Buyer beware.

The Jameson Football Flask is now available for pre-order in select markets, exclusively through ReserveBar for $109.99 (not including shipping) for as long as supplies last. Orders are expected to ship from Ireland sometime in October or as soon as they become available.
